Pelvic plastic surgery involves reconstructive procedures for the pelvic area that have cosmetic and medical benefits. It includes surgery for enlarged labia minora or majora (labiaplasty), vaginoplasty, and monsplasty and also surgical repair of damaged tissue due to gynecological surgeries and cancer treatment.골반필러
Our pelvic floor muscles and connective tissue hold our organs in place, including the uterus, urethra, bladder and rectum. During pregnancy, they work harder than ever as they stretch and support the growing baby, and during childbirth, they experience even more stretching and straining. Over time, this can weaken these muscle and tissue, causing the organs to sag or even prolapse. Pelvic organ prolapse can be painful, uncomfortable and embarrassing. The good news is that the weakened organs can be fixed with a surgery called colporrhaphy, which we perform at our community practice sites in Duarte and Arcadia, California.
The surgery can be performed using open or minimally invasive techniques, and we have a wide variety of procedures to choose from. We often use mesh to strengthen the underlying tissue of the vulva and pelvic wall. Mesh can be synthetic, or made of a natural material like collagen or carbon beads. We also use a procedure called a Burch sling for stress incontinence (leakage of urine when you exercise, sneeze or strain).
After your surgery, it’s important to follow post-operative instructions and avoid lifting objects weighing more than 5 pounds or excessive physical activity, especially during the first weeks after your operation. It’s also important to drink lots of water and eat healthy foods. You may need to wear a catheter for a few days or weeks, and you’ll probably need to take stool softeners to prevent constipation.
Many women who undergo pelvic plastic surgery report significant physical relief from the discomfort caused by enlarged labia, weakened vaginal muscles or excess mons pubis tissue. This translates into greater comfort in physical activities, improved mobility and a more harmonious relationship with their bodies. For those who have sexual dysfunction, tightened vaginal muscles can improve the quality of intimacy and lead to a more fulfilling sexual experience with a partner.
The goal of reconstructive pelvic surgery is to restore normal function to the bladder, uterus, vagina and pelvic floor after disease or injury. A successful outcome depends on how well the graft integrates with native tissue and provides anatomic, functional results. Ideally, the graft must be biocompatible, chemically and physically inert, mechanically strong while remaining flexible, non-carcinogenic, and non-inflammatory. Unfortunately, no graft meets all of these requirements.닥터케빈의원
