I apologize for the absence the past week!
Searching for an internship, working so many days and getting
ready for my last year of college has been keeping me busy and
away from the computer and any technology! ahh
Last week I had the pleasure of going to the Us Weekly Hot Hollywood
party here in Boston. VIP seating, yummy cocktails and a great rooftop party!
I ended up meeting fellow fashion bloggers! Kinsey, Katy
from Tangerine Hearts and Jaime from La vie… J’aime
They were so lovely (and so gorgeous)

dress: LIT boutique// shoes: Steve Madden// belt: nooo idea so let’s call it vintage =)

Posting will be regular by Tuesday, September 7th!
Hope everyone has a great week..miss you all!

My New York trip was great! I forgot how much I missed the city
and my best friend of course.. (and the shopping!)
I try to go at least once a year but I might have to double that.
What I learned from my trip to NYC this summer…
1. Zombie Hut- A tiki bar in Brooklyn (between Degraw St & Sackett St) I highly recommend going here for the zombie bowl (the tiki bar version of a scorpion bowl).. its purely amazing! You get to play board games in a nice patio area while you get incredibly happy from drinks at an affordable price. GO THERE
2. Century 21- WHY WAS I NOT TOLD ABOUT THIS PLACE BEFORE? its like Marshall’s on steroids. Burberry flats for $100.00? yes please.
3. Manhattan and Brooklyn- I love you Brooklyn… Manhattan, I’m not too sure I like you much anymore. Upper east side…you are the exception.
4. The People- I have been living in Boston for over ten years so obviously I am used to the conservative and old fashioned attitude people have here.. but New York totally exceeds the definition of the word ATTITUDE. I love it.
5. Fashion- To point it out plain and simple.. I wish Boston had the balls to get away with some of the fashion New York streets has.

My beautiful bff Lizz
skirt: Forever 21//belt: Forever 21//shirt: Strawberries
Outfit under $30!

Both dress and belt are from Dots!
another outfit under $30.. yay budget fashion!

When I do get a day off (happens very rarely) I love spending a day in Boston..
I never really appreciate how great the city really is.
Now if you were only a bit more fashionable like NYC and Paris… =)
I still have hope in you Boston.

Pearls have become more than just putting them on a string around your neck.
They have become a symbol of glamour, class and femininity.
|It is no longer an accessory but an icon, and for me it is the only thing worth wearing.
Pearls have been paired with every material and substance.. leather..lace..lucite.. gold
(the list could go on and on)
No matter what it is paired with, it always creates an essence of beauty and sophistication
so why not pair it with something bohemian and free like feathers?

Made by a local college student Kate Greenwood right here in Boston.
Her line Green-Wood Design has been doing extremely well, and there is no surprise there
the earrings she creates are impeccably detailed and beautiful.
*If you are currently in Boston I suggest you to go to LIT Boutique and pick up a pair!
I had these specially ordered because of my love obsession for pearls!

Because of my love for asymmetry, I can’t help but wear one pair, and a pearl stud on the other. I am so in love with them!
and since I have not done an outfit post in AGES.. I just had to do one for you lovelies!

Black cardigan: (looks plain but there is gorgeous lace detail in the back) Urban Outfitters
Dress: LIT Boutique Boston
Belt: I have no idea =)

The lovely face of the classic movie Breakfast at Tiffany’s would have been 81 today!
Her fashion sense, grace and beauty has changed all of our lives
(Who doesn’t think of Miss Audrey when they try on their little black dress
don it with a black hat and call it a day?)
Her birthday reminded me of a post I did back in December…. enjoy!
Dress like her

(you ever make an outfit and then you’re like goddamn it, I really want this?)
Thank you so much for the lovely happy birthdays I received for my
blogiversary! I appreciate it so much!
*I promise to post more this week! (finals will be done next week.. yes!!)
xoxo

I apologize for the lack of posts this week.
I never really thought work, projects and school would
be kicking my ass anytime soon, but sadly this week it is.
I will be catching up on all of your blogs by the end of this week!
Until then I actually need some advice!
I will be having a small get together for my birthday
which is coming up in March and my theme
will be 1920s fashion.
I quickly made this set to get some
inspiration for my birthday outfit.
Theres something about the 1920s
with a modern twist I just adore.
If any of you lovelies have any suggestions for a great
modern 1920s dress/outfit please let me know!!!
(my mind is blank this week haha)
xoxo
I also have my form spring account up for answering any fashion related (or personal) questions
I got awesome questions last couple times and would love to
put new ones up here!

Ask Miss Neira sounds extremely cheesy but that is the only title I could come up with since I am answering questions that were posted on http://www.formspring.me/missneira
so please do not poke fun haha
“My calves are somewhat muscular, they’re definitely not the skinniest, and I’m not very tall, how do i make my legs appear skinnier and longer? i can’t wear heels on a daily basis either. Would skinny jeans be a bad idea considering my situation?
I am really excited someone asked this question! I am a perfect example of the frustration with muscly calves and not being very tall. I went as far as contemplating surgery in couple years! (but I won’t) I try to wear heels as much as I can because that does lengthen a whole lot, especially if I am wearing a dress. If heels as a daily wear is torture (which they can be) opt for styles like these..
- Asymmetrical shaped boots- they work wonders. Instead of the straight up and down shape, these give a nice shape to the legs as well as giving a pretty lean look (I swear by this)
-Wedges boots/booties- If you really don’t want to be in heels wedges are much easier and they do really elongate the leg without too much fuss. Even 1-2 inches can do a lot more than you would think, especially if they are boots.
Jeans are pretty tough as well because I know no matter where I go I see skinny girls around me wearing their skinny jeans and looking absolutely amazing in them. When I wear skinny jeans it looks like my calves need to breathe fresh air (that is not sexy). I go more for straight jeans, they do look very similar to skinny jeans but do not have that really tight feel to the calf area which in the end makes the calves look bigger (eek!) Jeans with darker wash also can minimize the look of muscly calves (they help a whole lot)
and…
“What are some good Unis/Art Unis in Boston? esp. for graphic design, advertising or communication arts?”
1. Suffolk University- great for advertising and communication. Every person that I know that have been there have never complained about any of the programs or majors, really good and popular school.
2. Mass Art- cool state school, great for any art majors, graphic design is very popular in this school and they have great programs for it as well.
3.New England Art Institute- one of the bigger art schools and they also offer graphic design, though they are a lot more expensive than Mass Art.
4. Emerson College- another “artsy” school which is right in the theatre district of boston. They also have a great communication arts program. Whats great about this school is you can take communication as a major and something different like dance for a minor (really popular for that)
I hope my answers helped!
if anyone else has any questions please ask them here! and I will make sure to post answers here!
p.s
oh and who likes my outfit?
I believe it is a vintage Chanel piece…
=)
