Us Weekly Hot Hollywood party and vacation!

I apologize for the absence the past week!
Searching for an internship, working so many days and getting
ready for my last year of college has been keeping me busy and
away from the computer and any technology! ahh

Last week I had the pleasure of going to the Us Weekly Hot Hollywood
party here in Boston. VIP seating, yummy cocktails and a great rooftop party!

I ended up meeting fellow fashion bloggers! Kinsey, Katy
from Tangerine Hearts and Jaime from La vie… J’aime

They were so lovely (and so gorgeous)

dress: LIT boutique// shoes: Steve Madden// belt: nooo idea so let’s call it vintage =)

I will be away for a whole week on vacation!

Posting will be regular by Tuesday, September 7th!

Hope everyone has a great week..miss you all!

xoxo

Tight Frocks

We all know Herve Leger was the 1st designer in the 80s to bring the bandage dress
on to the runway, and eventually went all the way to the streets.

I personally believe a girl should have a couple of simple
bandage dresses in their closet.. they are flattering for almost
any shape and are just goddamn sexy.

These tight little frocks have been getting a lot more play
the last couple of seasons and now you can get them
for an affordable price, with even better styles.

Bold New York and Classy Boston…

My New York trip was great! I forgot how much I missed the city
and my best friend of course.. (and the shopping!)
I try to go at least once a year but I might have to double that.

What I learned from my trip to NYC this summer…

1. Zombie Hut- A tiki bar in Brooklyn (between Degraw St & Sackett St) I highly recommend going here for the zombie bowl (the tiki bar version of a scorpion bowl).. its purely amazing! You get to play board games in a nice patio area while you get incredibly happy from drinks at an affordable price. GO THERE

2. Century 21- WHY WAS I NOT TOLD ABOUT THIS PLACE BEFORE? its like Marshall’s on steroids. Burberry flats for $100.00? yes please.

3. Manhattan and Brooklyn- I love you Brooklyn… Manhattan, I’m not too sure I like you much anymore. Upper east side…you are the exception.

4. The People- I have been living in Boston for over ten years so obviously I am used to the conservative and old fashioned attitude people have here.. but New York totally exceeds the definition of the word ATTITUDE. I love it.

5. Fashion- To point it out plain and simple.. I wish Boston had the balls to get away with some of the fashion New York streets has.

Cheeky Beach 2010 collection

I’m a girl that has trouble with not just finding the right size bra but also
finding the right size swimsuit (so I don’t flash half the beach and scare children)
Of course I am not complaining, my “assets” are well appreciated but I was happy
to discover a company that not only caters to us curvy girls
but also can design beautiful beachwear without looking matronly.

Cheeky Beach is a swimsuit company based in London and is now
my new favorite spot to look for swimsuits!
Their new 2010 collection has me swooning..now if I can only decide!
It comes in 3 styles.. The New York, Fiji and Dubai

Versace Men SS 2011 collection

Versace is a favorite of mine. It has to be the Italian glamour, the flamboyant appeal
and of course the sexuality that comes from every collection.

Versace showcased their Men’s Collection for SS 2011 in Milan on Saturday, June 19
and it looked gorgeous! The 80s seemed to be a major inspiration
for Donatella (yes I know it has been overdone) but I like this trend with men!

Every man needs to own this leather jacket, and pants in that color.
(get to it boys!)

Maya Hansen Heavy Metal 2010 collection

If you have never heard of Maya Hansen, I suggest you go here and acquaint yourself!
The beautiful corsetry work Miss Hansen designs every season has been
a favorite of mine (think of her as the Betsey Johnson of corsetry)

This past collection that was shown during Madrid Fashion Week in February
had a lot of heavy metal/rock influences

Mix of elegance in gowns and the bad-ass look of heavy metal?
(why wouldn’t I like it?)

Crystal Renn in vintage-inspired lingerie

I personally have a huge girl crush on Crystal Renn. She’s absolutely beautiful, full-figured and amazing for being able to come out from the fashion world slamming it for its terrible influence on younger girls and their body image.

and she looks fabulous in this photo.

Agent Provocateur bra and Dolce & Gabbana panties

and other news…

Karl Lagerfeld is purely talented and amazing (we all know this) There have been times when I questioned if I really liked him, especially when I read he doesnt like fat people…? (read it here)
but I have made a final decision and I am pretty much in love with this man.

his interview with Vice

Bruce: I like that you make it clear that you don’t want to be photographed or filmed without your sunglasses on. I don’t either. Who would?
Karl: They’re my burka.

Bruce: Exactly. A burka for the eyes.
Karl: A burka for a man. I’m a little shortsighted, and people, when they’re shortsighted, they remove their glasses and then they look like cute little dogs who want to be adopted.

——-

Bruce: I hate it when photographers are like, “Can we have one with your glasses off?” Why? You can see me just fine.
Karl: I had an interview once with some German journalist-some horrible, ugly woman. It was in the early days after the communists-maybe a week after-and she wore a yellow sweater that was kind of see-through. She had huge tits and a huge black bra, and she said to me, “It’s impolite; remove your glasses.” I said, “Do I ask you to remove your bra?”

——

How do you feel about Karl Lagerfeld?

and Crystal Renn in a fabulous set?
